First Look’s and First Touch

Are you planning a wedding and thinking about having a “first look” or “first touch” and not sure what it involves or whether it is right for you?

So what is a first look? A first look is a having a sneaky photo session before the ceremony where you reveal yourselves to each other before the audience of the ceremony. It can be a simple as being blind folded or having your hands covering your eyes, taking off the blinds and surprising each other. You get to enjoy this emotional encounter together before presented to an audience.

What is a first touch? Similar to the first look where you have some time together before the ceremony. However in a first touch you do not actually take the blind fold off and you won’t see each other. You might like to sit on a chair either side of the door, read a love letter to each other and hold hands, but no peeking!

A first look can take place anywhere. A forest outside your location, outside the hotel, at the church, or a beautiful room in your house.

I absolutely adore First Looks for it’s intimacy and emotion. It gives you a chance to share a moment all to yourself before the wedding day buzz begins and exchange a few words in private.
